Sustained Readiness Programs
Keep the skills you already earned. 12-month self-directed training programs for TECC and TCCC CLS and CMC graduates and those who have trained in emergency Point Of Care Ultrasound, built around the equipment and the self-directed curricula to make proficiency last.
THE PROBLEM THIS PROGRAM SOLVES
You finished the course. Then your calendar finished you…
Combat lifesaver, combat medic, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, and Point Of Care Ultrasound skills are perishable. The evidence is consistent: hands-on procedural skills begin to decay within weeks of training, with substantial loss by six months and, for many skills, a return toward baseline within a year when they aren't practiced. Tourniquet application, wound packing, needle decompression, airway management, FAST exam — the interventions and diagnostic studies that save lives — are exactly the ones that fade fastest.
For most graduates, the gap isn't knowledge or motivation. It's the absence of two things: a structured plan that tells you what to practice and when, and the physical equipment to actually do the repetitions. Without both, even a strong initial course quietly expires.
The Sustained Readiness Program closes that gap. It's based on the same longitudinal maintenance curriculum F2L builds into its Applied Combat Lifesaver Skills, Applied Combat Medic Skills courses, Combat-POCUS< RESONATE, and Sustainment Medical Specialist, now available on their own, for providers who already hold TECC, CLS, CMC, or equivalent training or POCUS training and want to keep it sharp.
HOW They WORKS
One year. 12 sessions. Everything you need to run them.
The programs are built around twelve monthly training sessions you run yourself, on your own schedule, at your own location. Each session comes with a structured curriculum and a built-in assessment so you can prove — to yourself, your team, or your command — that the skills are still there.
• A guided plan, not a binder on a shelf. Each of the twelve sessions specifies the skills to drill, how to set up, how many repetitions, and how to self-assess against objective criteria. No guesswork about what to practice.
• Assessment built in. Every session includes a skills-verification checklist. Complete the year and you have a documented, month-by-month record of maintained proficiency.
• Designed for distributed practice. The twelve-session cadence is deliberate: short, spaced repetition is what the science says actually preserves psychomotor skill — far better than one big refresher a year later.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Each program is a complete, self contained training system: A curriculum, training gear, and a simulator to train on
1. The training and assessment curriculum
The full 12-month, 12-session self-directed curriculum, matched to your entry level — an ACLSS/CLS-graduate track, an ACMS/CMC/TECC-graduate track, or a POCUS trained provider track. Each session includes step-by-step drill instructions, setup guidance, repetition targets, and an objective skills-verification checklist for self- or supervisor assessment. Delivered so you can run it independently, anywhere.
2. For ACLSS/CLS and ACMS/CMC/TECC-graduate tracks
Five complete sets of training gear
Five full sets of the consumable and reusable training equipment needed to perform every skill in the CLS or CMC / TECC skill set — enough to train a small team simultaneously, or to give a single provider ample repetitions across the full year. Training on the actual gear you'll use in the field is the point: skills built on your own equipment transfer; skills built on whatever was in the classroom don't.
A low-fidelity patient simulator
A full-body Rescue Randy training manikin (105 lb) with an add-on moulage/wound kit — a rugged, low-fidelity simulator that lets you practice hemorrhage control, wound packing, casualty movement, and full-scenario care on a realistic human form. Low-fidelity is a feature, not a compromise: controlled studies consistently find low-fidelity simulators non-inferior to expensive high-fidelity systems for building and maintaining procedural skills — which is exactly why they're the right tool for sustained, distributed practice you run yourself.
The manikin is the Simulaids Rescue Randy (105 lb), an articulated, weight-distributed full-body trainer used by military, fire, and rescue services worldwide, paired with a moulage upgrade kit for realistic wounds.
3. For POCUS trained individuals
A Butterfly Network iQ3 with unlimited subscription to the Advanced Technology Plan and access to ScanLab, Butterfly Network’s continuous training program.
WHO IT’S FOR
TCCC CLS and CMC and TECC graduates — anyone holding current or prior TCCC Combat Lifesaver or Combat Medic/Corpsman certification, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, or F2L's ACLSS or ACMS, who wants to keep those skills current.
POCUS trained providers — Anyone trained in POCUS who may have limited opportunities to use POCUS in real-world applications.
Teams and small units — the five gear sets make this a natural fit for a squad, station, or team that trains together. One program keeps a whole group ready.
Individual providers — medics, corpsmen, and tactical providers between formal training events who refuse to let hard-won skills decay.
WHY SELF-DIRECTED TRAINING WORKS…WHEN IT’S BUILT RIGHT
Self-directed training gets a bad reputation because most of it is a manual nobody opens. This is different. The program works because it supplies all three things unsupervised training usually lacks: a specific plan for every session, the equipment to execute it, and an objective way to measure whether the skill is actually mastered. Give a motivated provider those three things and distributed self-practice becomes one of the most cost-effective readiness investments available — no travel, no scheduling a cadre, no waiting for the annual refresher.
